Time flies when you are having fun, and I’ve been having a wonderful time re-reading the Foundation Trilogy with this group of folks, some whom are re-reading it as well and others who are reading it for the first time. It has been great seeing this through the eyes of others and has caused my appreciation of Asimov’s works to grow beyond the high estimation I already had for them.
We are going to bring this Asimov group experience to a close with a group reading of the final novel of the original trilogy, Second Foundation. Second Foundation has one of my favorite Michael Whelan covers ever. I remember being so thrilled to finally get over my hesitation in reading this series so that I could get to this book to discover just who this girl was. I wasn’t disappointed and I hope you will enjoy her as well.
We would love to have you join us. The reading will begin this coming Saturday, February 11th with postings on Sundays beginning on the 19th and will end with the final discussion on Sunday the 26th, ending just on the verge of the close of the 2012 Science Fiction Experience. If you would like to join in, the sign up linky is just after the jump.

Totally can’t stop now so I’m in!
Awesome!
Count me in! I’m excited to see what happens next!
Me too, its been long enough that I only remember vaguely what happens.
Yes! Can’t wait to see what happens next!
Great to have you in again Sarah!
You knew I would be here for this one. Due to work related issues, I am not finished with Foundation and Empire. I plan on finishing it this weekend.
Sorry work has been so busy (although in this economy that can be a good thing). I hope you still get a chance to post on Foundation and Empire as I’d love to read your thoughts and am glad you are joining in on this one as well.
Keep on keepin’ on, you people! I’m really enjoying the commentary.
I have been so curious about the second Foundation, so I’m excited to finally get to it and find out more about it. That is a great cover!
I love how the towers on the cover reflect / mimic the boots of the girl. Wonderful symmetry.
I love those Whelan covers! When I first read the FOUNDATION TRILOGY eons ago, I remember being totally faked out by Asimov on the location of the Second Foundation. That’s when I started reading Asimov’s mystery stories.
Can’t wait. Lovely cover – I liked the clown cover but this one is even better!
